My love
With rhymes anew
You breathe life into me
In love I caressed you
In pain I buried in you
Through life
You have healed me.
Poetry, you are soul
To my being
The only other language I speak
Sometimes
In a long ending speech.
Even when rhyming get tough
You never let me give up
You are the love I found
Not in books leather bound
In earthy smells
Where my heartbeat dwells.
Poetry, you are of another world
When I string you together
I feel you in my veins
As though blood throbbing
Memories clogging
You are what made me sane.
It’s a day late for World Poetry Day, but I forgot to say I love you to the one thing that saved me a long time ago. The only thing that brought me joy in my darkest hours with the exception of Harry Potter.
You know there are two kinds of love: one that you announce to the world and the other that doesn’t need validation of the world. The second kind is unconditional and knows no bounds. Remember to love.
